Relief of TMJ disorders and snoring

The TMJ-MBV is a sleeping appliance for snorers and mouth breathers. It features four large breathing holes and a 7mm air spring base for increased bite opening and gentle temporomandibular joint (TMJ) decompression. If a larger appliance is required, there is also an 11mm base version available. The TMJ-MBV allows for free movement of the mandible when in place, ideal for patients with an existing TMJ disorder.

TMJ-MBV Design Features

The TMJ-MBV is specifically designed for mouth breathers and snorers, unable to nasal breath comfortably, who suffer from TMJ disorder symptoms. The higher vertical sides of the TMJ-MBV provide better comfort and retention, particularly when the mouth is open.

Directions for Use

The TMJ-MBV appliance is to be used for one to two hours each day, plus overnight while sleeping. The patient's teeth may become slightly sensitive in the early stages of treatment. This is quite normal, however, if pain becomes excessive, decrease application time with the aim to build it back up once the appliance is accustomed to and sensitivity subsides.

    Hold the TMJ-MBV with the tongue tag facing up.

    Place the TMJ-MBV into your mouth.

    Keep your tongue positioned on the tongue tag.

  • Step 4

    Close down on the TMJ-MBV and feel it working to align your front teeth and jaws.

    Keep your lips together and breathe through your nose whenever and as much as possible.

Cleaning the TMJ-MBV

The TMJ-MBV appliance should be cleaned under warm running water every time the patient removes it from their mouth.
