Myobrace® Certified Educator - SOLD OUT

OVERVIEW

Completion of this course will result in qualification as a Myobrace^® Certified Educator. The course is open to dental assistants, dental hygienists, oral health therapists, dentists, orthodontists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, ENTs and sleep physicians.

This course will include the basics in anatomy and physiology of the orofacial musculature. This is an exciting opportunity to learn from the world's pre-eminent experts in the field and gain an insight into the only myofunctional system that has been successfully integrated into dental, orthodontic, TMJ Disorder (TMD) and sleep practices in over 100 countries worldwide.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This course is suitable for practices who have completed MRC’s other training programs and are already providing Myobrace^® treatment but want to provide it at the highest level by training a fully certified educator to enhance the delivery of Myobrace^® treatment.

COURSE TOPICS

History of myofunctional therapy and traditional myofunctional techniques;
Functional anatomy and physiology, related to breathing and orofacial musculature;
Myobrace^® Activities intensive workshop and troubleshooting;
How to conduct a proper consultation and evaluation of myofunctional disorders;
Case studies;
Habit elimination (e.g. thumb sucking);
Latest research and exercises related to Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB) and sleep apnoea;
How to conduct a Myobrace^® Educator (ME) Check, a myofunctional evaluation form completed at each appointment to accurately quantify improvement, thereby determining progression of treatment;
How to conduct an activity support session and a special myofunctional troubleshooting appointment if treatment is not progressing as expected.

Dr Ana Lorena Gómez

Le Dr Ana Lorena Gómez a pratiqué la dentisterie générale pendant 27 ans. Elle a pratiqué exclusivement l'orthodontie pendant 17 ans, mais a intégré le système Myobrace^® dans le traitement régulier de ses patients en 2009. Cela a entraîné une augmentation du nombre de patients traités et de meilleurs résultats en matière de stabilité des cas et d'harmonie du visage. Le Dr Gómez partage son expérience sur la façon dont elle a changé la façon de faire les diagnostics initiaux, en incorporant des évaluations myofonctionnelles et, ce faisant, elle a pu traiter le problème de la mauvaise fonction plus tôt et dans le cadre d'un traitement orthodontique préventif intégral, changeant ainsi la façon dont les soins étaient prodigués.

Kelly De Miro
RDH, BS, OMT, IBCLC

Mme Kelly Baker a débuté sa carrière en tant qu'assistante dentaire dès le lycée, puis est devenue hygiéniste dentaire agréée. Elle a poursuivi sa formation dans le domaine dentaire en enrichissant ses connaissances des applications cliniques des techniques et en obtenant sa certification en anesthésie locale en 2008. En octobre de la même année, elle a suivi un cours de l'IAOM pour devenir thérapeute myofonctionnelle. Après avoir passé 19 ans à exercer en tant que RDH et OMT, elle a accepté le rôle de éducatrice américaine en chef au sein d'MRC, où elle a pu exprimer sa passion et sa conviction dans la thérapie myofonctionnelle.
