OVERVIEW
Completion of this course will result in a comprehensive understanding of The Myotalea® System. This course is open to dental assistants, dental hygienists, oral health therapists, dentists, orthodontists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, osteopaths, chiropractors, ENTs and sleep physicians who have successfully completed the Myobrace® Certified Educator course with a score upwards of 80%.
This course will include the basics of anatomy and physiology of the orofacial musculature, as well as provide complete and intricate training on The Myotalea® System and all of the variants that lead to utilizing this system.
COURSE TOPICS
- Myotalea®Activities - Hands-on engagement of how and when to utilize each appliance with your patients;
- Review of diagnostic tools (MOE, BFTs, NB3, ME Check);
- Dysfunctional tongue evaluation;
- The palatal stretch;
- Maternal health deficits in lactation;
- Intercepting and identifying Sleep Disordered Breathing (SDB);

Dr Ana Lorena Gómez
La Dra. Ana Lorena Gómez ejerce odontología general desde hace 27 años. Su práctica fue exclusivamente en ortodoncia durante 17 años, sin embargo, incorporó The Myobrace®System como tratamiento regular para sus pacientes en el 2009. Esto resultó en un aumento en el número de pacientes tratados y mejores resultados en estabilidad de casos y armonía facial. La Dra. Gómez comparte su experiencia de cómo cambió la forma de realizar los diagnósticos iniciales, incorporando evaluaciones miofuncionales y, al hacerlo, pudo abordar el problema de la mala función de manera más temprana y como parte de un tratamiento de ortodoncia preventivo integral, cambiando la forma de como brindar atención.

La Sra. Kelly Baker comenzó su carrera como asistente dental en el consultorio durante la escuela secundaria y se convirtió en higienista dental registrada. Continuó su educación en el campo dental aprendiendo más sobre las aplicaciones técnicas clínicas y obteniendo su permiso de anestesia local en 2008. Asistió a un curso de IAOM para convertirse en terapeuta miofuncional en octubre de ese mismo año. Después de pasar 19 años practicando como RDH y OMT, asumió un papel como la educadora líder en EE. UU. Con MRC, donde ha podido expresar su pasión por la creencia en la terapia miofuncional.
