Your first step is to review the Myofunctional Orthodontics section of this website. Once you have a clear understanding of soft tissue dysfunction and the principals behind Myofunctional orthodontics, you can move onto other sections of this site. Attending an MRC course will provide you with a greater understanding of how to implement these treatment methods in your practice.

Contact your nearest MRC representative to get further information about the appliances and treatment methods. They can also give you more information about MRC courses along with doctor, staff and patient education tools available for use in your practice.
Patient Selection
Identify the potential applications for these appliances in your practice. After watching each of the Myofunctional Orthodontics videos you will soon start to recognise the potential applications of MRC’s appliances. Most growing children have a developing malocclusion. Select a few patients for treatment and have them attend a consultation to learn about how this treatment can potentially help them. MRC has developed educational tools such as the 'Myobrace Consultation CDROM' and myobrace.com to assist in educating parents and patients.
Treatment Planning
Review specific materials that are related to the appliance you’ve chosen to use for your initial cases. The 'Appliance Selector' can be used as a guide to help choose the most suitable appliances. Take initial records to develop your treatment plan. MRC can offer guidance on an individual case if necessary (fees may apply). Contact your MRCrepresentative for more information.
Commence Treatment
Start treatment on the patients you’ve selected. Ensure that you maintain accurate records and regularly review each patient.
Note: Remember to tell the parents that the treatment goal is NOT just to eliminate the malocclusion (although this is possible in many cases), but to decrease its severity, improve facial growth, decrease the need for extractions, and to improve the stability of any future orthodontic treatment. If used as directed you will obtain routine success. Many orthodontic problems can be eliminated with an early start using MRC’s treatment methods.
